How We Engage

Senior practitioners, clear terms, and skin in the game.

Every engagement is built around the work you need done, not a fixed package. You work with named senior practitioners, you know what you're paying for before the work starts, and where we can, we tie part of our fee to the result.

There are four ways to work with us

Defined Project

A fixed scope and a fixed fee, for work with a clear start and finish, such as an assessment, a strategy, or a technology selection.

Retained Partnership

A monthly retainer that gives you named principals and partners on an ongoing basis. Your access to the wider team grows as the relationship deepens.

On-demand Advisory

Senior time booked in half-day blocks, for a deal review, a board session, or a decision that can't wait.

Outcome-linked

Part of the fee tied to results, such as savings delivered or revenue won. We prefer it, and it can sit on top of any of the other three.

How an engagement starts

No cost and no commitment until we both agree there's a fit.

Initial Conversation

A 30-minute call on what you're facing, what's been tried, and what a good result looks like.

Deep Dive

A longer working session with the practitioner who'd lead the work, to test the problem and the approach.

Proposal

A short proposal with scope, named people, timing and fees, plus any outcome-linked terms, all in writing up front.

Kickoff & Review

We start on agreed outcomes and review them with you on a set cadence, so there are no surprises at the end.

Questions about how we engage? We've got you.

  • Who will we actually work with?

The people named in the proposal. We don't win the work with senior people and staff it with junior ones.

  • Do you work on success fees?

Yes, and we prefer to. Any outcome-linked fee is agreed in writing before the work it applies to begins.

  • Who owns the work?

You own the work product we build for you. Our methods, tools and frameworks stay ours, so we can keep improving them for every client.

  • What about your relationships and introductions?

When an engagement includes executive introductions, we make them on your behalf, during the engagement, and only where there's a real fit for both sides. Relationships aren't handed over.

  • Do you have relationships with technology vendors?

With some. If we recommend a vendor we have a partner relationship with, we tell you.
